Simple Oatmeal

This simple recipe of oatmeal provides numerous benefits to our health. Oats are rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. They are a good source of carbs, protein, fat and fiber. Oats have a special soluble fiber called beta glucan. In the gut, it partially dissolves in water and forms a thick glue-like solution, which helps get rid of bad bacteria, toxins, excess hormones, etc. It helps reduce cholesterol and improves blood sugar levels.

INGREDIENTS

Old-fashioned oats 1/2 cup

Chia seeds 1 tbsp

Water 1/2 cup

Milk 1/2 cup

Chopped dates 1-2

Cardamom powder 1 pinch

Nuts and seeds for topping!


INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Mix oats, chia seeds, milk, water and let it cook on low flame for 5-6 minutes. Add little more water or milk if the consistency is too thick.

  2. Add cardamom powder and chopped dates to sweeten and flavor the oatmeal.

  3. Once you have the desired consistency, take it off the flame and top it with your favorite nuts and seeds.

  4. Serve hot and enjoy!


This oatmeal is perfect for the cooler days when we need something warm and nutritious!
