"Health is a journey not a destination"
The first few years of my life were very hard for my parents and me. I was really sick due to parasites, dehydration, constipation, jaundice, typhoid and a few more that I cannot describe in English. I was hospitalized two times and my mom wasn’t sure if I was going to make it through all this. But as we know our bodies are amazing and I recovered from all the illnesses. In fact I rarely got sick after the age of 10. I give my parents credit for this, especially my mom who fed me fresh home-cooked meals and the loving environment I grew up in. I remember eating fresh fruits and vegetables right from my grandparents garden.
Growing up with this lifestyle is what made me passionate about cooking and gardening. I love cooking different cuisines and also have my vegetable garden in the summer. It gives me so much joy and happiness.
Everything was going great until my daughter had jaundice right after she was born. I wondered how a newborn baby's liver could have a problem. I mean she is brand new. It led me to self-study about health, nutrition, and toxins in the environment and food supply. I started eating more organic foods and adapted to an overall healthy lifestyle. Five years into my health journey when I was eating the best but physically was not feeling the best. With time I realized I wasn’t good at managing stress. I was overthinking, frustrated and angry so no matter how good I was eating it wasn't helping me. That’s where I was missing the piece of emotional health.
While doing my training at IIN (Institution of Integrated Nutrition) I learned how important emotional health is along with nutrition. I learned about self-care and started taking better care of myself at a deeper level. I want to help others who are struggling with similar issues. Also, I want to guide others by building healthy and sustainable habits that helped me and continue to help me in my health journey.
It's never too late to start and there is no age limit to start feeling your best.
