Sprouts are great for our health and they are very easy to grow from the comfort of our homes. You can get the sprouter but honestly you do not need any fancy utensils to make sprouts. It can easily be done in a regular bowl or a mason jar. Only trick is the lid of the container should not be airtight. It should be breathable so the container can be covered with muslin cloth.
Let's see how easy the whole process is!
First wash and soak moong beans in double or triple amounts of water overnight or for 8-12 hours.
Next day moong beans will be double in size. Rinse again and drain all the excess water and keep it on the counter.
Rinse the mixture every morning and evening and drain the excess water. It can be ready in one day or when you start seeing the sprouts coming out. It also depends on how long you want the sprouts to be. I usually leave mine for 2 days.
Sprouts can be eaten raw or lightly cooked. There are many benefits of eating sprouts and we should include them in our diet regularly.
Hope you soon start growing your own sprouts and enjoy the process!
Sprouts are rich in vitamin A, B-vitamins, minerals, trace minerals and phytochemicals.
