CCF tea or Digestive tea

Updated: May 24, 2021

According to Ayurveda, “You are not what you eat, but you are what you digest”.

We can eat all sorts of nutrient rich foods, greens, smoothies, salads etc., but if our digestion is weak, we will not absorb all the nutrients from the food we are eating to receive full benefits. To make digestion strong, I would like to share CCF tea AKA Digestive tea. It contains cumin, coriander and fennel seeds hence the name CCF. In Ayurveda, cumin seeds are warming digestive spice, coriander seeds are cooling digestive spice and fennel seeds are cooling, sweet digestive spice. This unique combination of cooling and warming spices makes this tea a perfect balanced blend for all 3 doshas. (vata, pitta, kapha). It’s a gentle way to detox our body on a daily basis.

80% of your immune system is located in your digestive tract (gut), so making a healthy gut a major focal point can help you achieve optimal health and this tea can be an easy, gentle and affordable option!

Benefits:

  • It balances the digestive fire which improves digestion.

  • It stokes metabolism and helps in fat burning.

  • It detoxifies the body and purifies blood.

  • It helps in weight loss.

  • It reduces inflammation.

  • It soothes the mind and improves mental clarity.

  • It helps relieve gas, bloating and constipation.

How to make it:

Mix equal quantities of these 3 seeds in a container.

Boil the water with 1 spoonful of these mixed seeds for about 10 mins.

Once done, strain and enjoy. You can drink it warm as it is or you can add lemon and salt to your taste. I love using black Indian salt (aka Kala Namak) and it tastes delicious.

To receive full benefits, drink this tea warm on an empty stomach in the morning and wait about 20-30 minutes before eating anything. It can also be taken after having a heavy meals or at bedtime.
